Safer buying.
Safer selling.
REVEND is built to reduce the risks that come with paying strangers directly, arranging private meet-ups and trying to solve problems after the transaction has already left the platform.
Safety is built into the transaction
REVEND's purpose is not simply to display classified advertisements.
The platform is designed to manage the important parts of the transaction between buyer and seller.
Payment, delivery status, buyer protection and disputes stay connected to the REVEND transaction.
The REVEND safety model
No direct payment to strangers
The buyer pays through the REVEND transaction process rather than transferring money directly to an unknown seller.
Managed delivery
REVEND is designed around courier delivery instead of requiring buyers and sellers to meet strangers or arrange informal handovers.
Sold as Advertised
The seller must supply the item materially as it was described and shown in the listing.
Transaction tracking
Payment, order and delivery status remain connected to the transaction instead of being handled through unrelated private arrangements.
Dispute process
If an item is materially not as advertised, the buyer can raise a dispute and provide supporting evidence.
Seller protection
Buyers cannot simply use the dispute process because they changed their mind after completing a legitimate purchase.
No need to meet strangers
REVEND is designed around managed delivery.
Buyers and sellers should not need to arrange meetings in parking areas, shopping centres, homes or other private locations simply to complete an ordinary marketplace transaction.
Where an approved delivery service is available, the item moves from the seller to the buyer through the REVEND delivery process.
This reduces the need for private cash exchanges, unfamiliar meeting points and informal handovers.
Buyers do not pay sellers privately
Buyers should complete payment only through the official REVEND checkout process.
A seller should never ask a buyer to move the transaction outside REVEND by requesting payment directly into a personal bank account, through an external payment link or through another private payment method.
Moving payment outside the platform can remove important transaction records and protections.
Sellers know there is a real transaction
REVEND is also designed to protect legitimate sellers.
The seller should not be expected to hand over or dispatch an item based only on a screenshot, message or promise that payment has been made.
Sellers should rely on the status shown inside the REVEND transaction.
Sold as Advertised
The central product rule on REVEND is simple:
The product supplied must materially match the product the buyer purchased.
Sellers must accurately describe the condition, material defects, included items and other important characteristics of the product.
Buyers should carefully review the complete listing before purchasing.
Read Sold as Advertised Buyer ProtectionA dispute is for a real problem
The REVEND dispute system is designed for genuine transaction problems, particularly where the item is materially not as advertised.
A buyer should provide clear evidence explaining what is wrong and how the item materially differs from the listing.
REVEND may review listing photographs, descriptions, disclosed defects, transaction records, delivery information and evidence supplied by both sides.
Seller payout may be held while a valid dispute is being reviewed.
Changing your mind is different
REVEND Buyer Protection is not intended to be a general change-of-mind return service.
When a buyer knowingly purchases an accurately advertised product, ordinary buyer remorse does not automatically make the transaction invalid.
This is subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable South African consumer law.
Keep communication connected to the order
Where REVEND provides transaction communication tools, buyers and sellers should use them for important order information.
Keeping information associated with the transaction can help REVEND investigate a genuine problem if one occurs.
Be alert to attempts to leave REVEND
Buyers and sellers should be cautious if another user asks them to bypass REVEND's transaction process.
Warning signs can include requests to:
- pay directly into a private bank account;
- use an unrelated payment link;
- communicate only outside REVEND;
- ignore the transaction status shown by REVEND;
- send an item before payment is confirmed;
- misrepresent the parcel contents to a courier; or
- bypass REVEND's managed delivery process.
Seller listing safety
Sellers should provide clear photographs and truthful product information.
Material defects should be shown and described before a buyer purchases the item.
Sellers must not list stolen, counterfeit, unlawful or otherwise prohibited goods.

Use the official REVEND support process and include the relevant order number where applicable.
SUBMIT SUPPORT REQUESTREVEND cannot eliminate every risk
No online marketplace, payment system or courier network can guarantee that fraud, theft, misrepresentation or delivery problems will never occur.
REVEND's objective is to reduce avoidable risk by keeping the transaction structured, recorded and managed through the platform.
Trust the transaction.
Don't rely on a stranger's promise. Use a transaction where the payment, product, delivery and dispute process stay connected through REVEND.
